How This Site Works
Why Register?
Helplostpet By registering with Helplostpet, you will
be registering your pet's vital information, such as
name, breed, gender, color, and postal code. If your
pet is ever lost, the person who has found your pet
will be able to locate you based on the postal code
in which the pet was found. Don't worry. Helplostpet
takes into consideration surrounding postal codes when
notifying pet owners that a possible match [ view all
possible matches ] was just added to Helplostpet. Helplostpet
does not use the information gathered during registration
for any purpose other than helping Lost pets find their
homes. Read below for an example of how the web site
helps to find lost pets. A Registered
pet is Lost
1. A pet registered with Helplostpet escapes through
a hole in the back fence.
2. A few blocks away, a kind family brings the pet into
their home because they realize he's lost.
3. The caring family does not recognize the pet and
does not know to whom he belongs; he doesn't seem to
be wearing a pet tag.
4. The family is smart and visits Helplostpet.com to
see if they can locate the owner of the pet.
5. The family submits a lost pet search for Boxer, Brown
/ White, in the postal code 77065.
6. The family quickly learns that there are 3 registered
Boxers in their area: Jimmy, Puppy, and Roni. The lost
pet is a male, and seems to react when the family says
his name, Roni!
7. The family uses Helplostpet to contact all three
Boxer owners in the area just to make sure they find
the right owner of the lost Boxer.
8. The family enters their name, email, and phone number
into Helplostpet and Helplostpet takes care of contacting
the registered owners.
9. An hour later, the phone rings and the worried owner
of Roni is asking about his lost pet.
10. Roni's owner arrives at the family's residence 5
minutes later to bring his beloved companion home.
Adding a Lost pet / Adding a Found pet
Helplostpet Adding your Lost pet to Helplostpet allows
others to find that you are the owner of the lost pet
they have found. The idea is simple, but we took it
a step further to make sure that owners and "Finders"
can find each other. If your pet is posted as a Lost
pet, all "Finders" who have posted a Found
pet matching your pet's breed and area will be notified
of the new Lost pet. Also, anyone posting a Found pet
that matches your Lost pet's details will be notified
that there are already Lost pets matching the description
of the pet he found. Read the scenario below for more
information. An Unregistered pet is
Lost
1. A pet, Julier, who is not registered with Helplostpet
escapes through an open gate in the back yard.
2. It doesn't take long before the owner realizes that
his pet is missing.
3. Although his Jack Russell has short legs, the owner
knows that his curious pet could be long gone by now.
4. The owner spends hours looking for his beloved pet
but returns home broken hearted.
5. The quick-thinking owner posts his pet as "Lost"
on Helplostpet.
6. Simply entering the pet's name, breed, size, and
postal code allows the world to know that Julier is
missing.
7. About the same time, a kind family has picked up
Julier while he wandered the streets about a mile away
from home. Julier was having the time of his life while
his owner was worried sick.
8. The family decides to take the pet home and look
for the owner. The smart family uses Helplostpet to
post a "Found pet" listing. Upon submitting
his description, they are informed that a Lost pet named
Julier is lost in their area. Sure enough, the pet they
found has a collar that says "Julier."
9. The family uses Helplostpet to contact the worried
owner.
10. The owner calls the caring family and arranges to
pick up his curious traveler. Rewards
Helplostpet allows owners of Lost pets to post the value
of their reward on their Lost pet posting. Helplostpet
does not guarantee this reward and does not facilitate
the payment of such a reward. |
